What changed in the privacy and cookie pages

Observer and the chat button, named

Every page now loads two scripts from services run by Castomo: Observer, our own analytics, and the chat button. The privacy policy and the cookie policy now say what each one records and stores, for how long, and that the chat's answers are written by AI models to which your messages are sent. Both pages are in English in every language.

Visit counting and the chat, described exactly

The privacy policy now says exactly what Observer records and how the daily code is made, that the IP address is never stored, why we count visits and how to object. For the chat it names the AI providers, says the conversation is sent to a model once more to write a summary, and says that a visitor's record and conversations are kept until 180 days after their last visit, replacing the earlier fixed 12-month period. The cookie policy was brought in line. Both pages are in English in every language.

August 2026

The month the product got its shape

A front page made of people

Five photographs and the five things somebody actually says before they try this, each with the answer beside it. The long product tour it replaced did not go anywhere — it is the full tour now, and it is still where the product gets demonstrated rather than described.

A privacy policy, a cookie policy and terms

Written to be read once rather than survived. The cookie policy is short, because there are no cookies — and it says which single value is kept in your browser, and the one request that still leaves this site.

A contact form that reaches a person

It goes to the same desk a bug report from inside the designer goes to. If the send fails, nothing you typed is lost: it becomes an email you can post yourself, with the text already in it.

A board can write, not only read

A button or a form on the page creates and updates rows — in a table kept here, or in the database you connected. Every command stays inert until you grant the board permission once, and each press is confirmed with the command's own summary beside the design's own label.

Nine more widgets, and the businesses that were waiting on them

A VIN decoder, end-of-life dates, public tenders, an amount converted on the day it mattered, daily readings, prayer times, and what is passing overhead tonight. Three ready-made businesses followed them in: a used-car dealer, a mosque and a parish.

Motion the dialogs carry too

Entrances and effects that belong to the design rather than to the tool, with a panel to choose them — and a fix for the curve that made most of them invisible on a real board.

Four team-VPN tiles

Status, team, devices and regions, reading the signed-in reader's own seat. They carry no key material, because a design is a file that travels.

A bug report that survives a big design

An uploaded image lives inside the design, so a report could be too large for the gateway to accept — and the failure cost the report rather than the image. It no longer does.

Four ways to arrange a page

A grid, a cloud, a free canvas or a strip — and regions that hold their contents in the middle instead of pinning them to a corner.

The League, in three parts

Apps, dashboards and widgets, each with its own league, so what people build is visible to other people building.

A copy of dash-b on your own server

One seam in the app, and the whole designer runs somewhere else with your work inside it.

Share a widget or a page with another account

And a public link for a single tile, lifted out of the design around it.

Design with a chosen assistant

One store for the instructions people lend the AI, and a way to pick which of them is working with you.

A company brief the generator can design from

Give it a company name or a website instead of a paragraph, and it starts from what is publicly known.

Your tables on the board

The Databases panel — grid, forms and a designer — plus drop a file and get a database, and a customer's own database behind the same interface.

One catalogue for everything dash-b connects to

Databases, connectors and OAuth accounts stopped being three different mechanisms.

A close button on every dialog, and popups you can design

The chrome became part of the design rather than a thing the tool kept for itself.

The answer is a JSON Patch now

The AI stopped replacing your design and started editing it, which is what made undo work on a generation.

A whole business, installed in one action

Ready-made businesses: five of them now — a doctor's office, a car repair shop, a used-car dealer, a mosque and a parish.

Music a board offers, and listening together

Castomo Radio, your own files, and a room whose track follows the session.

Booking, and a refund policy you set yourself

The widget pair, the agenda, and tiered cancellation terms edited from the dashboard rather than from a support ticket.

Deciding what your own users are made of

The schema designer and the profile form that writes them, uploads included.

Seventy-eight languages

Including the widget descriptions, the command palette, the submenu column and the bug report form — not only the buttons.

How this page is kept

Written from the commits, not from a marketing plan

Four hundred and thirty changes landed in August. The entries above are the ones a person would notice; the rest were tests, translations and repairs. Nothing is listed here before it is live.

See it rather than read about it.

Designing is free, with no account and no card.
